Confusion

The total confusion when you get a call and struggle to understand their accent, until you realise that they are speaking Norwegian.

A Sock In The Post

How funny, I got a letter the other day, and excitedly opened it. It was a SOCK! One sock! Hahahaha!

Sent by my mum after she had seen this picture:

Apparently she had the other one and the posted it to me. It sure was the first time I ever received a sock in the mail!

So Funny!

Hahaha have a look at this clip.

God it makes me laugh, just the way the monkey runs like Phoebe in Friends with his arms flopping about! Hahahahaha!

Like Mother Like Daughter

When I saw my mum the other night the first thing I said was:

- That's a nice new top! Who gave you that?
- Oh thank you! I got it from Maria when she cleaned our her wardrobe, my mum said.

Hahaha how funny that my first thought was that she had been given it, not that she had bought it. And I was right.

It's like when I wear something "new" to work, my colleagues now ask me "oh that's nice, who gave you that?".

Weird Bike

When I was driving to Västerås to the singing group yesterday I suddenly see this man on a bike. But he was lying down, reading a book!?

I saw him from a distance, and kept looking as I drove past as I though surely I was imagining it. But no, he was going quite fast, lying down and reading a book.

I had to google it and apparently there are there new bikes now, where you lie down and cycle. But why he was reading a book at the same time I don't know.

Hahahaha how funny! This is a comment I got on my 4 sec video of me trying to kiss Domino.

I am so glad that someone thought it was "amazing" and "really enjoyed it till the last"!

Inside Out

Oh how silly you feel when you think you discover an inside pocket on your running trousers, but you are actually just wearing them inside out.

Clown Moment

The other day James had some friends over. They were sitting in the front room, and I was dying my hair. I got in the shower to rinse it out, and realised as I have started showering that we were out of shampoo. I knew there was some more in the drawer in the hallway so I wrapped a towel around me and quickly sneaked out to get in.

To quickly in fact I managed to slip, go "oooooh" and save myself from falling by doing a wierd jump and dropping my towel! I quickly grabbed it, ran backwards into the bathroom and laughed under the shower until I almost drowned.

It Was The Wrong Cat!

Years ago my mum worked with a guy who had a lot of cats. He was having one of them put down and had asked her to do it for him.

So she went to his flat, picked up the white and black cat and took it to the vet to have him put down.

Imagine her surprise when the guy later called her and asked why the cat was still there, and was wondering where his other cat was.

Oh my, it's really bad but it does make me laugh!

Renamed

Unfortunately as I booked the trip before we got married most hotels welcomed us as Mr and Mrs Bengtsson rather than Swan. The hotel is Swaziland was the only one to get it right. In Stellenbosch they even took it a bit further and made a new name up for us.

I give to you, Mr and Mrs Borcherdxz!

How Many Fingers?

I bought Alina glue-on fake nails for her birthday, as she had mentioned she would like some for our wedding.

There was a pack of 48 nails, both natural looking ones and ones with a golden pattern, to go with the gold theme.

Alina: So do you wear the natural ones one some fingers and the patterns on some?
Me: Well I guess you do as you like.
Alina: Oh yeah of course, there are 48 nails and you have 24 fingers, so there is enough for both!
Me: Exactly!
....

Me: How many fingers did you say you have..?
Emma: (laughing hysterically) This reminds me of the time you though that hares have three legs!

(Footnote: Alina is actually a highly intelligent girl who finished school with top grades.)

Fail!

I hate it when you think someone is trying to shake your hand, but they actually just want their pen back!

I Never Learn!

On Sunday after we had been riding we had some cake that Nikki's mum had made. One of the stable cats was sitting nearby, and I called him over to lick the cream off my plate.

He just ignored me, stupid cat, so I called again. But he ignored me. Then I remembered, he is deaf!

So I went up and nudged him and he quickly finished the plate off.

I never learn! I don't know how many times I have called that cat, or beeped at him when he has been in front of my car.

Sorry Emil!

"What?"

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

In England I worked as a Field Coordinator. A tough but incredibly fun job with lots of responsibility. I was promoted from being a customer service rep after about 6 months of working.

Work do with MEM

When I first started my new role I was given the north of England and Scotland as my area.

- Why do you give Scotland to a Swede? I exclaimed to my boss. The Scottish accent can be very tricky!

But I ended up not just learning the different accents of Scotland but also knowing the geography of Scotland better than I have ever known Sweden. I also got to go up north in England and to Glasgow, which I absolutely loved.
However, when Selina left I was also assigned her areas, Wales and Ireland! It was like starting all over again. Irish can be really hard to understand, and sometimes they didn't understand me! "Oh you English people", they would say. Well.
What still makes me laugh is how I struggled to pronounce the names of the Welsh cities.

I vividly remember calling a lady up to ask if she could do a job in Llanelli.

Me: I was just ringing up to see if you are able to cover some hours in "Lanellee" next week?
Lady: Where?
Me: Ehm... "Lanelli"? Is that not how you say it?
Lady: I am sorry I really don't know what you mean?
Me: But... You live there!
Lady: Ohh, you mean "Schaneschli"¨
Me: What?
Lady: Oh yes, double L is pronounced "schl"!

Lucklily I never had to ring anyone and ask if they could do a job in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

Funny Annika!

My sister fell in the pond yesterday, how funny is that!!

We were there the other day looking at their pond, and Gabriella was balancing around it. I kept hoping she'd fall in.

- Come ooooon, fall in, it would be hilarious, I said. But she refused. Börje, her dad, told us that he fell in the pond when he was digging it and it was empty.

And then yesterday Annika actually fell in! Apparently there is a picture of this, I will ask her if I can put in on my blog.

Anything for a giggle!

Dog Poo

When I was on the phone to Alina the other day she suddenly started laughing.

She had taken her dog for a walk earlier and used a poo-bag to clean up after her. Now she found the bag with dog poo on the table in the hallway!

She had brought the bag inside without even realising.

In My Dream World

The other night I must have been thirsty. I normally keep a bottle of water (a glass doesn't work as the cats think it's for them) on the bedside table, but that night I had put a bottle of body lotion there.

So in my sleepy state I reached for the bodylotion, somehow realised that you can't drink it, and instead put a huge blob in my hand and started rubbing it in my face!

At this point I "woke up" and realised what I was doing. Well there was no return really as I was too tired to get up and wash it off, so I just smoothered my face and went back to sleep.

Without drinking my water.
