Forever Young

I have just got the perfect opportunity to have a good night out! I have been invited to a party to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the college I went to, Kopparlundsgymnasiet in Västerås. (College here is not the same as in England, this you normally start when you are 16 and finish when you are 19.)

From Kopparlunden. Jennie, me, Emma and Nathalie
It's not 10 years since I graduated, but it's 10 years since I started when the school opened. We were the first students to ever go there, so the first year there was only about 60 of us. A great school from where I have a lot of good memories. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone again and going out to have fun with my old friends!!

The only downside is that we will be the oldest ones there as we are the oldest students. Bugger.
I just have to try and look young.

One By One

Tonight I am going with Alina to watch Emma and her band One By One perform live for the first time.
How exciting!!

Then we are going to go out dancing, it's been about three years since me and Alina went out just to dance, so I am looking forward to busting some moves. And eating kebab.

One By One, don't they look cool?

Saturday - Elina 25!

I haven't been able to say anything but for the past few weeks we have been planning a surprise for Elina who turned 25 in the weekend. We had decided to take her to Västerås for some shopping and a make up course, and then back to Eskilstuna for a surprise Disney party.
How perfect that she then herself suggested a girly day in Västerås! We played along and all the thought she was doing was going in for some shopping. He-he.

Pretty Elina had her make up done
So we gave her some money for shopping, then took her to have her make up done followed by lunch. Then we put a big pink bucket on her head and asked her to get in the car.

Elina in her pink bubble!
We drove her back to Eskilstuna and to her mum's house, where everything was set up for a Disney party. Elina was given a green Tinkerbell outfit that went with her green make up, she looked like a real fairy!

Then we put the bucket back on, and took her outside to meet this gang:

What a sight!!
Then we had a great Disney party with Disney music, decorations, Finnish booze and lots of laughs. Here are some pictures:

I Am Magical

So on Saturday I dressed up as a witch (more about this later). Have a look at this picture that Emmi took. I am pretending to cast a spell, but hold on...!?

What is that wierd light coming out of my hand? And why does it look like a face? Can you see it?

The Weekend

What a mad weekend! I am too tired to tell you all about it now, but I will do tomorrow night!

For now, here's a picture.

Madéleine & Peter's Wedding

The wedding yesterday was beautiful. I got all emotional when they walked in to the same tunes as we did at our wedding. Madéleine looked beautiful, like a princess, and they looked so happy.

The Beautiful Bride

Later on we had a lovely dinner. They had their reception in a big marquee in their garden as well. James found an English guy who liked cricket so he was happy. They were chatting away in Swedish, which is quite funny, but that guy had lived here for 30 years so Swedish probably came more natural to both of them as they were surrounded by it.

Then we hit the dance floor, even James who rarely dances were up there with me for hours. It was so much fun!

Thank you Madde and Peter for a great day and night, we wish you a lifetime of happiness!

 Love

Rockabilly!

Monika is having a party on Saturday with a Rockabilly theme. I am so going, sounds like fun!

Me and Monika

Emma has some Rockabilly styled clothes, so I am going to see her on Friday to borrow an outfit from her.

Perfect, I am looking forward to it! Now I just need to figure out how to do my hair and my make up, I have never tried this style before.

I am rubbish at hair though, maybe Emma can give me some tips.

Reunion

So I spent a night with my old class mates. Some of them I had not seen for 10 years.

Quick summary of the night:

Got ready with Emma and Alina. Wine, karaoke, lots of fun.

On to a party at an old class mate's house where we met up with the others. So much fun to meet them all again.

Everyone are basically the same, but nicer.
I guess the art of communicating with people without throwing things at them comes with age.

On to the actual party, which was crap. Food was ok but it was dead quiet, we left around 10 pm.

Back to where we had the first party, did karaoke, arm wrestling and danced like maniacs (see previous post) until 2 am.

All in all, great night!

Aching

I could not understand why my body was aching today. Almost like I'd had a proper work out.

Then I remembered.

I thoroughly recommend the 1.00 am Dance like a Maniac work out.

10 years younger

Tomorrow we are going to the 10 year reunion. I have been looking forward to this for... Well for 10 years. So I'm excited!

Me, Emma and Alina are going to get ready together at my parent's house. Have some wine, some karaoke, just like the old days (but then it was normally Sprite, not wine). Then we will go on to an old class mate and meet up with the others before we go to the party.

 Me 10 years ago

I really look forward to get ready whilst listening to music from that time.

Here are some old favourites:

Stronger / Oops I did it again - Britney Spears
Blue da ba dee - Eiffel 65
Played a live -Safri Duo
This I promise you - 'Nsync
Flying without wings - Westlife
Survivor - Destiny's Child

Reunion

I have been invited to the 10 year reunion for my old “Högstadium” class of 2001. Högstadium is the equivalent of the English Secondary Level, which you finish when you are about 15 years old.

So basically I have not seen most of these people for 10 years! I am so excited I actually feel 15 again, looking forward to the next school disco! It will feel surreal going back to my hometown and seeing my old classmates as grown ups.

I just can’t take in that I am not the only one who has gotten older, in my mind the people who I haven’t seen since we were 15 are still 15 going to the same school and living at home with their parents.

I ran in to an old teacher a while back, and asked her if she is still working at Nibbleskolan.

- Of course I do, she said, ….I am 73!!!

Oh!

Well excuse me for thinking that teachers were ageless and lived in the school buildings.
