James came and picked us up with the horse trailer at 8am, Corvette walked straight in and off we went.
Tess and her children met up with us at the riding school where the competition was held. They helped out with Corvette so me and Linda could watch some of the other jumpers together with James and my parents who had arrived.
Corvette was quite tense to start off with, but she seemed to relax a bit as we waited for our turn. Linda was first out. They did a really good ride, even though Corvette looked a bit tense. No faults at all, and that is good considering that it was Corvette's first time ever in a competition. Then it was our turn.
For the first time Corvette felt slow, she is normally more full speed ahead. So it was quite hard to find a rhythm, and we ended up trotting instead of cantering in between some of the jumps. They were very small though so it didn't really matter, and we finished the course with no fault.
Well done Corvette, and thank you to everyone who helped out!! I am so tired now I will just sit in the sofa for the rest of the day. This weekend has been so full on and I am absolutely knackered!
Both me and Linda really enjoyed it and everything went well, so we might enter a bigger competition next month!
Me and Corvette |
Doing the course. The jumps where very low which might be why Corvette didn't feel the need to go very fast. |
Well done Corvette, your first price! |
Getting ready to go home. |
