I Am Not Giving In

This bloody cold!! I just want to get better but it it still there, blocked nose, itchy throat, headache. Any other week would have been better, this is my full-on birthday week.

I started to feel worse last weekend, but then we had my family around so I just had to ignore that. Then the whole week we've had things planned. I contemplated taking a day's holiday tomorrow and just stay at home and try to get better for Saturday's girls' night, until I realised that tomorrow we are going to a restaurant to celebrate my birthday and our engagement anniversary.

So tomorrow I have to be well, and on Saturday I definitely have to be well as it will be a crazy whole-nighter with my friends! On Sunday we are riding.

Oh well, I can be ill on the 23rd of December as I have that day off.

Bloody Cold

It's very warm for November, no snow and the ground is still soft and not frozen. Great for riding, running and for germs.

The germs don't like the cold winter weather so they don't spread when it's really cold. Now that it's warmer though (about 5-10 degrees), they are loving it. Most people at work have been ill, and I still don't feel like I have recuperated after my cold. Or maybe I have a new one.

I am still running and riding and doing everything I normally do, it's just a bit more hard work when you can't breathe properly through your nose.

Uhh I hope I will feel better soon! Such a waste to be ill if you're not even sick enough to be off work.

I Am Still Sick!

This is driving me mad now, I still have a cold and it's now making my chest hurt. I haven't done any running for a week and last night I actually dreamt about running.

My legs are itching to go but my body just wont work with me. Even though I thought about going for a run anyway I quickly realised that it is better to wait it out. So annoying!

On the plus side I have now started doing all my push-ups properly (not on my knees). I do 15 x 15 x 10 x 10 at the moment. We will see how the optional challenge will go today, I will just have to do it slowly and listen to my body.

75 push ups per day starting today!

Drugs

I realised that I felt a lot better, after just one day with a cold.

Then I remembered, I had dosed up on nose spray, paracetamol and Strepsils that James got for me.

When it started to wear off I instantly felt worse. I hardly ever use pain killers and stuff, but every time I do I am just amazed how well they work! They can actually make me think that I am well when I am not.

Screw you cold, drugs it is!

I Have A Cold

I don't get ill very often, but now I have a cold. I think it's after the exhibition I worked at last week, you meet so many people and last year I got ill after that as well.

So my plan to step up the running will have to wait until I feel better, now I am just focusing on being able to work, ride and do my challenge until I feel better.

Good thing I've got the best husband in the world to look after me

Now Lets Step It Up!

This week I have been quite lazy. I was so incredibly tired on Sunday after having been running and riding lots in the weekend, I just felt like I needed a rest.

So Monday until Thursday I didn't do any exercise what so ever. Then yesterday I felt like I had my energy back, so I went for a 8K run on my lunch break, and then I went riding in the evening. It felt good, and I didn't feel tired so my little rest probably worked.

I have actually decided to step up my exercising and try to eat more healthily over the next four weeks, at the same time as I do the new challenge. Mainly because I want to see how much difference four weeks can do. I like experimenting and I think it's interesting how you can change your body.

I will post a picture of day one and then day 28 to see if there is a difference. 4 weeks feel much more doable than 100 days. Bring it on!

Moaning

My back really hurts...! And I really don't have the right job for a bad back, sitting in front of a computer all day every day doesn't help.

It might be my running shoes, I will get my finger out and get new ones soooon, but there is always something else I would rather spend my money on. Running shoes are expensive.

(Could someone please fix my back and get me some perfectly fitted running shoes, already molded to my feet if it's not too much to ask?)

Oh What A Dirty Korv

I think I am getting a cold. I woke up last night with a gasp as I felt like I was choking. Then I realised that I had been trying to breathe through my nose and my nose was blocked. Bad idea. Good thing I woke up before I died.

My body is aching as well. I have been riding Corvette quite alot recently, plus I have been upping my running a bit, so I don't know if that is the reason or if I am actually getting ill.

I'll just have to wait and see.

You can tell that summer is ending when the horses start to look like this.

"What?"

Self Inflicted Pain

Oh my god how stupid. After all my back problems I have now figured out what the problem was.

It's my exercises!!!!

Yesterday I did 18 exercises which was hard work, and today my back is hurting again. Bugger! I think it's the russian twist that is screwing my back up.

Russian Twist

What am I doing wrong? It's harder on my back and my legs than on my stomach. Any tips??

Morning!

I have just been back to the doctor's about my asthma, and she could confirm that it is much better now. She thinks it has something to do with the pollen season, and that I should be able to stop taking the inhalers next months. Great!!

Today I need to call the church up as we haven't heard from them about which priest we will have etc. I am also calling a DJ that Emma recommended, we really need to sort that out.
We are waiting to hear back from the caterer with a quote on the food, and we are meeting Alina's brother Jimmy to talk about the cake in a couple of weeks.

Lots to do still and just over 7 weeks to go!!

I am growing my hair for the wedding
It's getting long

Bargie's got Back

Sooo about my back.

According to the masseuse I have not pulled a muscle or anything, I have just strained my back. I don't know if it was raking the grass or my stunt with Mr Ottino that did it.

She also massaged my gluteal muscle (my bum), and oh my god it hurts so much! She keeps saying I need to stretch more, something about the connective tissue being way too tight.

Anyway, with a couple of days rest I will be fit for fight again!

Back and Bum

I've really hurt my back, maybe from working in the garden. I felt it when I did a run on Monday but today it's much worse. It's my lower back that hurts and it goes all the way down to my bum (!?).

I can't do this right now

It's so annoying, it might mean that I will have to take a break from running as I don't want to injure myself further. Luckily the masseuse is coming to work today so I will ask her to have a look at it.

I think I might be Cured

On Monday I did a 5K run on the track in the forest in Kungsör.

I love that track, not too hilly but still enough to get your blood pumping! It felt like I went really fast, I really ran. But I did it in 26 minutes which was the same as I did at work the other week.

Bloody hell some people do 10K in 52 minutes which means they would have to run at that pace but twice as far. I could never do that, especially not in the forest.

Anyway, I didn't feel like I needed to use my asthma pump, so I didn't. And I was fine! Nor did I use it when I went riding on Friday and Sunday.

The only one I use now is the preventative one, maybe it has cured me!

The Challenge

Sofia has accepted a challenge which will go on for 100 days and entails doing sit ups and russian twists every day.

Each day you add one on, so the first day you do one of each, second day two of each and so on up until one hundred.

That would mean my stomach should be firmly toned by the time we go on our honey moon (not that we have booked it yet).

Great! I am so on!
Running is a great exercise but if you want proper abs you do need something else to complement it (so I've noticed).

Breathing update

I use my brown preventative inhalers morning and evening, and some days I don't have to use the blue "quick fix" one at all. I really don't like using it as it makes me tremble for about 30 minutes.
But it's brilliant to have a solution for when you start to panic because you feel like you can't breathe.

I feel much more awake, alert and "with it" than I have in months.
It feels like I have been running on a low battery and suddely I am fully charged. My legs don't give way anymore. I can run without feeling like I am going to keel over.

Tomorrow I am doing a 10K run for the first time, in the forest with lots of hills. Normally I do about 6-7K when I run, and that wears me out!

I am nervous but eager to see if I can do it!

Wish me luck!

No sugar week

I have accepted a challenge from my niece Ida.

(When I say niece, do not assume that she is younger than me. She is 28. My family makes no sense.)

She is doing a sugar free week, and so will I. I don't really eat sweets during the weeks anyway, but I do drink hot chocholate and squash which I will have to give up for a few days.

I am sure I will be fine, but it means I can't have my chocholate weekend.

Will let you know how it goes.

Lets do it!

And then of course it's my colleague's birthday today and we get cake. I like cake. So typical.

Shake shake shake

Oohh I am so shaky I can hardly write without hitting all the wrong keys.

And my heart is beating really fast. Weeee. When I talk it sounds like I am shivering with cold. But this will only last a few minutes.

I have just taken my asthma medicine.

Now I can stop moaning

Report from the doctor's appointment.

The doctor did all sorts of tests on me, but they all came back clear. However my lung capacity should be 195, but was down to 120 when she tested me this morning.

So apparently I suffer from asthma caused by an allergic reaction. Probably from spending time in the stable. I have never suffered from asthma before but apparently that can develop as you get older.

She prescribed inhalers, one that prevents and one quick fix for when I need it.
I got them straight away, and after one puff the tightness in my chest eased. Running today went so much better, no pain in my chest.

I am so relieved.
One because there actually was something wrong, thank god! And two because it was quite a simple thing that is easy to fix.

I also bought antihistamine pills for my itchy eyes and rash, and now I can go on as normal, only with a bit more oxygen in my body!!

So no more moaning now, I promise!

Going to the doctor

Today I am going to the doctor's.

What's so annoying though is that this time a week ago I felt like I couldn't breathe. When I went to the stables last Sunday I had to bring a book so I could sit down in between working as I felt dizzy from the lack of oxygen.

And now, off course, it's all better! So bloody annoying!

Will let you know how it went later

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Bugger! I just turned the page in my calender, and I have written in it that I am meant to go to the doctor's today at 8 am. But on my phone it says Monday.

So what do I do? Tried to ring them but they haven't opened yet. And if I wait until they open I will be late for work....

Hmmm.... I think it is on Monday so I will chance it.

Gosh, scatter brains!
